Yesterday was presented the 2008 UNICEF report .

The report examines the strategies to combat infant mortality, neonatal and maternal recent decades, pointing out the actions more "traditional" (vaccinations, rehydration salts therapy, breastfeeding, etc..) obtained great success in countering the most frequent causes of death among children, such as infections or diarrhea.
