Dear friends,

are now almost 3 years since our first trip in the village of Ekpegnon-Vakpò in Togo, 3 years when we decided to take care of the needs of people living there: Visiting enough water and preferably not contaminated, access to adequate food for the subsistence of the whole family, access to basic medicines, access to education.
How many of you know, we spent almost two years to complete the first project, the well-tank of 22,000 liters, which allowed the village (and some surrounding villages) to have enough water even in times of drought, and allowed to "liberate" women from the hard task of daily water supply, first done by hand pump or foot pedal is being facilitated through the faucet specially made.
We are currently building a new school building (Project Maria Laura) allowing you to accommodate both children and teachers in larger spaces and comfortable where you can follow the daily lessons. Unfortunately
between late July and early August have hit on Togo torrential rains have caused some casualties and extensive damage to thousands of refugees who have fled their homes destroyed by the flood.
The destruction of bridges and roads has also dealt a blow to the road system, making it more complicated is the relief operation must be the connections between areas affected and slowed down our plans. Fortunately
now seems to have restored a situation of relative peace that allows us to resume our activities.
Among these are also sponsorships: Thanks to your generosity, 70 children have an Italian family that allows them to attend school and buy school supplies.
Similarly to last year in 2009 we will advance the money for all children, regardless of whether they were adopted or not, confident in the new future adoptions that can provide every child safety and continuity of a family to take care of them over time.

As you can see, we hope to finalize some projects this year, others continue in future years and begin new activities (health services, showers, electricity) as soon as possible.
